During a routine inspection

We spoke with six people who used the service or their representatives, three care workers, a care manager and the registered manager. We also looked at a number of records including people's personal records, staff records and records in relation to the management of the service.

People we spoke with were very satisfied with the service and their care workers. People told us that care workers were reliable and competent and that care workers knew what support was required. We were told that care workers treated people with dignity and respect. People were comfortable allowing care workers into their homes.

We looked at the records of three people who used the service and found that care had been planned and delivered in a way that promoted people's health and welfare.

We found that staff had been appropriately screened to ensure they were appropriate to work with vulnerable adults. Staff we spoke with demonstrated a good understanding of the needs of people who used the service and were positive about their role.

The provider had appropriate arrangements in place to ensure that people were protected from the risk of abuse and that any allegation of abuse was appropriately responded to. We also found that provider had an effective and appropriate quality assurance system in place.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service or relatives of people who used the service. They told us they were generally happy with the care they received or loved one received. "Generally speaking they are very good. If I had a problem I would speak to someone in the office but they do appear a bit disorganised there."

Everyone we spoke with described staff as polite and respectful and acting in a "professional manner." We were told that if there was a problem they would speak to staff or someone at the office and "they do their best to put it right."

We were told that staff were well trained and that spot checks take place with the manager coming out from the office to check that everything was going well. "I have never seen my (relative) look better than this".
