All Inspections

28 June and 1 July 2013

During a routine inspection

During this inspection we looked at the care records for four people, spoke with the manager, a care co-ordinator and four staff. We also spoke with four people who we visited in their homes and spoke with one relative.

We found that the care records and care plans provided staff with the information they needed to meet people's needs.

People we spoke with told us, "Very good attitude, they are very friendly and always ask if there is anything else they can do."

A relative of a person using the service said, "They came out and completed an assessment." They confirmed that the care records had been completed with their full involvement.

We found that a range of health and care professionals were involved in meeting people's needs.

Staff had received appropriate training and support in respect of their job roles.

People were confident about the care, support and therapy provided within the service and had no concerns, but would raise them if they needed to.

3 September 2012

During a routine inspection

We visited and spoke with four people who used the services provided by Stockton Continuing Home Care. Two people were using the homecare service and two people were using the enablement service.

All four people spoken with confirmed that they had been involved in discussion about their care and support needs. They said that they were provided with the care they needed. One person said, "Yes, we have discussed what care and support I need, I know about the care plan, it is all in the book." Another person said,' I have been consulted about the care that is being provided." One person who had used the service previously said they had requested a particular member of staff and this had been arranged.

All people visited had a copy of their care records, which also included contact information for the service along with a copy of the service user's guide, which provided a range of information about the service.

All people spoken with said they were treated with dignity and respect by the staff.
