During a routine inspection

As part of our inspection we asked people who used the service about their experiences of the service provided by the Short Term Assessment and Re-ablement Service (S.T.A.R.S.). We visited one person in their own home and spoke with a further four people on the telephone.

People and relatives who met with us and spoke with us were very satisfied with the service being provided to them. Individual comments made to us included

'The staff are very good and never let me down. I have a care plan and they talk to me about my care. I am very satisfied with the service'.

'The service visited me and explained what they did. The person who spoke with me left a number of information leaflets for me to read. The information said what the service did for people and what to expect'.

'The staff are absolutely marvellous, they needed to give me a lot of help when I first came home from hospital but I am back on my feet and feeling much better'.

'The service always telephones me if the staff are running late. They try hard to make sure I get the same staff each time'.

'The staff are absolutely lovely. My relative was very nervous about having strangers in the house but she now looks forward to them coming'.

'I had lost all confidence in my ability to look after myself. The staff are totally different to what I expected, they are very helpful and check up that I have managed to get up and about each day. I am very happy with the service and will miss the staff when they go'.

People told us that the agency carried out reviews of their care on a regular basis. People were also aware of the complaints procedure and knew how to use this if needed.
