During an inspection in response to concerns

During the visit to the Lynden Care Home we spoke individually and in private with the registered manager, a person living at the home and a member of the care staff team. We also spoke very briefly with a number of other people who lived at the home in a communal area. The person spoken with individually said he was very happy living at the Lynden Care Home, he had no worries at all and that if he did, he would speak with a member of staff about what was troubling him.

The member of staff spoken with confirmed that she had recently received updated safeguarding training and stated that robust financial procedures were in place to protect any resident's personal monies retained in safe keeping at the home.

A person living at the home told us that 'I like living here, I go out when I want to, I go to the market with staff and have a cup of tea in the caf' outside, I like the staff everything is alright'.

A senior member of staff said that she felt well support by the registered manager and confirmed that staff were encouraged undertake a variety of training and that individual training needs were regularly discussed. This same person went on to say, 'The care provided is very good, residents are always given choices and everybody gets on. A great team all round both staff and residents'.
