Date of Assessment: 6 August 2025. Chestnut Lodge is a care home supporting older people. Staff treated people as individuals and were exceptional in how they made sure people’s care, support and treatment met people’s needs and preferences. The provider promoted people’s independence and listened to and understood people’s needs, views and wishes. The provider always cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff. The provider had a strong focus on continuous learning, innovation and improvement. Staff understood and managed risks to keep people safe. They put people at the heart of everything they did. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Staff managed medicines well and involved people. People were involved in assessments of their needs and were involved in decisions about their care. Where people lacked capacity, the provider ensured people received person centred care. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles.
