During a routine inspection

We spoke to ten people living at the home, six relatives, four members of staff and the manager.

Due to their dementia symptoms some people living at the home were unable to express their views. However we observed many signs of wellbeing within this group of people. People were nicely dressed, alert, responsive and happy to engage in conversation. We saw staff responding to people in a kind and patient manner, encouraging conversation, providing gentle prompts and practical help in a sensitive manner, such as when supporting people with their lunch. During this time staff encouraged people to make choices, allowed time for the response and did not rush people.

Those able to express their views confirmed that staff were always kind and polite. Comments included; "They work very hard," "All I have to do is ask' and 'Everyone is very helpful.'

The majority of the relatives we spoke to were satisfied with the standard of care provided at the home. We were told that health problems were quickly responded to, relatives were kept informed of important issues and that the care and support provided was good. We were also told that staff were very approachable and that activities took place, with staff encouraging people to get involved.
