During a routine inspection

On the day of our visit there were seven people living at the home. No one knew we would be visiting. We spoke to two people who lived at the home, two relatives, two members of staff, and the manager.

All staff spoken to were able to tell us about people's needs and records seen confirmed that staff were knowledgeable about the people they cared for. We saw positive interactions between staff and people that lived at the home. One person said, 'The staff are very good and care is very good us.'

Systems were in place to ensure that people were safeguarded from harm. People told us they felt safe living there. One person said, 'I feel safe here.'

The provider had arrangements in place that ensured that people's prescribed medication was managed safely.

The provider had robust recruitment process to ensure that staff were suitable to work with vulnerable people.

There were systems in place to monitor how the home was run, to ensure people received a quality service.

During a routine inspection

There were eight people living at the home on the day of our visit, no one knew we would be visiting. We spoke to three people who lived at the home, two relatives, two staff, and the manager. People told us about their experiences, we looked at records relating to people's care and observed staff caring for them.

People told us and we saw that that people's views were sought and acted upon. Staff was able to tell us about people's needs and the way they preferred to receive care. One relative said 'The staff have gone out of their way to make sure X has what she needs.'

We saw that people were comfortable in their environment and that systems were in place to keep people safe from harm. A relative told us 'X is very safe I have no worries at all.' Staff received a range of training so that they had up to date knowledge and skills in order to support the people who lived in the home.

There were systems in place to monitor how the home was run, to ensure people received a quality service.
