Our view of the service
The assessment was carried out with 2 visits to the service on 18 March and 14 April 2025. Ideal Home is a service providing accommodation and personal care to people with a range of needs including older and younger adults, mental health, physical disabilities and people living with dementia. At the time of our visits 26 people were being supported.
At our last inspection (published 24 August 2023) we found 2 breaches of regulation in relation to safe environments and poor governance of the service. At this inspection we found that improvements had been made to the environment however improvements were needed relating to medicines and governance. This meant the service continued to have 2 breaches of regulations. The overall rating for the service at this inspection has remained requires improvement.
Improvements were required to the way medicines were stored, administered and disposed of. Governance systems required strengthening to ensure they were effective at identifying and driving improvements. Risks to people were assessed and managed. The provider made sure there was continuity of care, including when people moved between different services, and they worked well across teams and services to support people. People were told about their rights around consent, and this was respected. People were treated with kindness, empathy and compassion and staff respected people’s privacy and dignity. The provider cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff and staff told us they enjoyed their roles.
