During a routine inspection

We spoke with five people who used the service. They told us they were happy living at Catherine Dalley House. One person said "I like it here, its a quiet place". Another person said "I keep myself occupied. The food is very nice. I am able to do what I want". We saw that people were able to participate in meaningful activities. Staff interacted with people who used the service in a positive and respectful way. Staff had received all the training they required. They were knowledgable about people's individual needs and preferences.

The management team provided strong leadership and support. Polices and procedures designed to keep people safe and improve their wellbeing were in place. Quality assurance systems were robust and ensured that polices and procedures were adhered to. The views of people who used the service taken into account. Staff were skilled and experienced in caring for people with dementia. They understood the importance of effective communication and meeting individual needs.
