Our current view of the service

Date of assessment: 25 June to 7 July 2026. The service is a residential home providing accommodation and personal care to adults of all ages. The home is registered for 23 people. At the time of our assessment there were 21 people living at the home.
People received safe care from a skilled and experienced staff team. Safe systems of staff recruitment were in place and staff received effective training and support. Risks were assessed and managed in a way that supported people's safety whilst respecting their rights and independence. Medicines were managed and administered safely.
Staff worked closely with health and social care professionals to help ensure people received timely support when their needs changed. The provider demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. The provider had undertaken positive work had been undertaken to strengthen nutritional support for people, resulting in improved outcomes and increased staff knowledge and confidence. Learning from this work had been embedded into practice to support the ongoing delivery of high-quality care.
The service was led by a committed registered manager who promoted an open and positive culture. The registered manager and provider had effective governance processes in place to monitor quality and drive continuous improvement. Staff spoke very positively about the registered manager and working at the home and described a supportive, inclusive culture where they felt valued and listened to. A staff member said, “[Registered manager] is so friendly. [Their] door is always open. [They are] so nice and approachable.”
People's experience of the service

People who lived at the home, and their relatives, were positive about the care they received. They described staff as going the extra mile and being caring, kind and compassionate. A person told us, “They [staff] are very kind. We have fun and I have a laugh with them, which is really nice and important to me.” Throughout our inspection we observed care that was exceptionally attentive, very kind, patient and respectful. There was a relaxed atmosphere where staff focussed on each individual. People described the service as homely and welcoming. People said, “I love to live in this place; I call it my home” and “Its lovely, cosy, comfortable and homely.”
People told us they felt safe, valued and well supported. They said, “I am very happy, they [staff] make you feel special and safe” and “They are lovely, the loving care we get is special.” People said staff knew them well, listened to them and responded to their wishes. A person told us, “I think the staff know me very well and know what I like.” People described positive relationships with staff and told us they felt comfortable raising any concerns. A person told us, “I could talk to them all. I can talk to [registered manager], she is very nice and would sort things out. I don’t have any problems.” People felt respected and valued. They told us, “[Staff] are very kind. They make you feel like you mean something. I am really happy here” and “They make us feel special. They are nice and friendly, the people and the staff.”
People also expressed confidence in the management of the service. Everyone we spoke with was positive about the registered manager and the way the home was run. A person told us, “It’s very well managed. I don’t have any concerns at all. I am completely happy and the staff are great.”
