All Inspections

During a routine inspection

Prior to the inspection we reviewed all the information we had about the service. We spoke with the registered manager, four members of staff and 11 people who used the service. We looked at records.

Lincolnshire Assessment and Reablement Service provided care and support to people in their own home. The service enabled people to regain and maintain their independence.

People we spoke with told us they were treated with dignity and respect and they were satisfied with the service they received. Comments included, 'Gave me confidence to get me back to how I was before my fall. Your people were caring, supportive and a great help to me. Full of good advice obviously gathered from experience. I was always treated with kindness and consideration. I have no complaints, only praise.'

We found that people using the service experienced effective, safe and appropriate care and support that met their needs and protected their rights. We found that the service was well led and effective because the provider had in place systems that ensured the service was reviewed and improvements made when necessary.

During a routine inspection

Prior to the inspection we reviewed all the information that we had about the service. We spoke to the registered manager, three members of the staff team and four people who used the service. We looked at records.

We saw that every person who used the service was provided with a comprehensive pack that contained, amongst other things, details about the service, policies and procedures and how to raise concerns or make a complaint.

People who used the service told us they were very satisfied with the quality of the care provided and that they had been involved in the compilation of their care plans. They also told us that the care support staff, would always promote their privacy and dignity when providing personal care in their home environment.

We saw that staff had undergone training to help them recognise and deal with any issues that may give concern in respect of vulnerable adults.

Staff told us they felt they were well trained and supported to deliver good quality, safe care to people.

We saw that the provider gave everybody who used the service the opportunity to comment upon the care and support they had received. They then analysed those responses to learn from and resolve any issues that may have been identified.

The registered manager told us, "We aim to give support for a maximum of six weeks, but it may be less. It's not uncommon for people to leave our care doing things for themselves that they couldn't before they were referred to us."

During a routine inspection

The people we spoke with said they were happy with the care and support they received and felt it was delivered in a safe way. They told us staff offered them choice and respected their opinions while encouraging them to be as independent as possible. They said staff had asked them how they wanted things doing and had provided their care in the way they prefered it delivering. One person said, 'At first they had to help me with most things but now I'm much better so they only help with a few things.'

The people we spoke with said staff were caring, friendly and helpful. They told us they listened to them and were good at their job. One person told us, 'They (care workers) are brilliant, I can't sing their praises high enough.' Another person said, 'I have the same girls most of the time they are all very, very kind.' A relative told us, 'They (care workers) are all very competent, they have a laugh and a joke with dad and he always says, 'I like my girls'.'

People raised no concerns about the support they received and confirmed they were asked if they were satisfied with the service provided. When we asked if there was anything they would like to improve no-one could not think of anything they wanted to change.
