During a routine inspection

All of the people who we spoke with told us that they get on well with the staff and all of the staff supported them very well with their day-to-day needs. They are involved in the planning, delivery and reviews of their care. One relative we spoke with told us that the service provided was good and overall they were very satisfied.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two of the thirteen people receiving a service. We were told that it was possible we may cause distress or anxiety to the other people receiving a service if we were to contact or visit them.

We visited the home of two people who share a house and both receive a service.

They told us the house had recently been refurbished, and they were pleased with how it looked. One person told us it was much easier for him to use his wheelchair in the house as the doorways had been widened.

Both people told us they like the staff that support them.

One person told us they had been involved in planning a review of their care, and they had chosen who to invite, and to have the meeting in the pub.

One person told us that staff help with doing weekly meal plans, food shopping and cleaning the house.

We were shown a 'talking timetable' that staff had developed to help one person with remembering what was planned for the day.

They said they take part in interviewing new staff. One person told us they do a role play and discuss what 'good care' and 'bad care' is with candidates.

One person told us he was involved in a 'practice development team'. This involves visiting other services to complete quality checks.
