During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service and their relatives who all gave positive comments about the care and treatment they had received. Their comments included:

"The optometrist was excellent."

"I am happy with the information I have been given."

"We are very confident with the care here."

People told us that they understood the treatment they were receiving and that they had received all the information they needed to give consent to treatment.

The provider had a comprehensive infection prevention and control policy in place that was in line with all relevant guidelines and requirements. Medicines were stored safely and relevant polices for the administration of medicines were in place. We also saw a complaints policy and information on how to complain.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who used the service and a relative of someone using the service, all gave positive comments about the care and treatment they had received. Comments included:

"Absolutely fantastic"

"Seamless and painless, they keep telling you everything"

"Lovely talked me through everything didn't just do things"

People told us that they understood the care they were receiving and that post operative care had been discussed and explained. The provider had a comprehensive infection prevention and control policy in place that was in line with all relevant guidelines and requirements. We saw a complaints policy and information on how to complain.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to a sample of people on the phone following our visit to the Optical Express Liverpool Clinic. Every body told us they had been provided with plenty of information to enable them to make an informed decision about the treatment. They told us that staff supported them with lots of questions and that they were given an information pack to take away and read before they made any decisions to have any treatment. People told us they were 'Very happy with the clinic and the staff' and they told us they signed their consent form before they received any treatment.

Overall everyone told us they were 'Happy with the results' and they told us 'The aftercare was excellent'. Everybody told us they had several follow up appointments to have check ups and some people told us they had contact numbers if needed to ensure they received any additional support.

Every body told us they were 'Very happy with the staff'. Everyone that we spoke to told us that each staff member they met were 'Helpful' and they had 'No problems at all with the staff'. They felt the standard of care and support that the staff gave was 'Excellent'.
