During an assessment under our new approach

Date of Assessment: 22 May 2026 to 5 June 2026. The service is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to adults of all ages living with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder, physical disabilities, dementia and sensory impairment. This is the first assessment for this newly registered service.

Although the service was not currently supporting anyone with a learning disability or autism, we assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. This guidance supported judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence and access to local communities that most people take for granted.

The service provided safe and effective care which met people’s needs and preferences. Systems were in place to ensure there were enough safely recruited and trained staff to support people. Where risks were identified to people’s safety, plans were in place to minimise these including consideration of environmental risks and managing the risk of cross infection. Staff supported people to take their medicines and where incidents occurred these were reviewed and actions taken to learn lessons. Staff understood how to safeguard people from abuse.

Staff worked in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and respected people’s choices and decisions. Staff worked well as a team and engaged with other professionals to support people effectively. There were clear processes in place to ensure people received care which promoted independence, enabled choice and control and was person-centred. Staff were also supported in their roles with clear polices and processes to ensure equity.

There were systems in place to ensure the quality of the service was monitored and managers were clear about their roles and responsibilities. The registered manager had systems in place to hear and act on people, relatives and staff feedback. Other professionals were involved in peoples care and the provider ensured effective partnership working was in place.
