During an inspection looking at part of the service

We did not speak to people using the service. We spoke to the registered manager and they told us that they have submitted all relevant notifications to the Care Quality Commission.

Inspection carried out on 17 January 2012

During a routine inspection

The people we spoke with told us they were happy with the standard of care provided. One person said, All in all, the care I get is good. Another person told us, Without them I couldnt carry on.

However quite a few people commented that sometimes the care workers are late and they are not always informed. A community matron told us that they thought Allied Healthcare Leeds should be more proactive about late or missed calls.

Staff and people using the service told us that they had enough time to provide all the care which is required. People said staff are friendly.

People told us that care workers always reads their care plan and know what care to provide. One member of staff told us, "It's our instructions on what to do."

People told us that they had been involved in reviewing their care plan and could make decisions about how they wanted their care to be provided.

People told us that their privacy and dignity is respected, they felt safe and care workers respect their home. People also told us that they knew how to complain about the service or raise any concerns about the quality of care.
