Date of Assessment: 15 – 20th July 2026. The service is a care at home service providing support to adults of all ages living with dementia, mental health conditions and physical disabilities.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence, and access to local communities that most people take for granted. The provider was working in line with national best practice guidance for supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people. The registered manager and the staff team had embraced this guidance and supported people to ensure they were supported in accordance with their wishes
People received care from a service that demonstrated a commitment to safety, person-centred care and continuous improvement. Staff were knowledgeable, well-trained and supported through supervision, competency assessments and ongoing development opportunities. This enabled them to provide care that was responsive to people's individual needs whilst promoting dignity, independence and choice.
The service maintained a positive culture where learning, openness and accountability were encouraged. Staff felt confident raising concerns, sharing ideas and learning from incidents, which contributed to improvements in practice and outcomes for people. Governance processes, including audits, spot checks and regular reviews, helped ensure the quality and safety of care remained under continual review.
There was a clear focus on partnership working and effective communication. Staff worked collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and community services to provide coordinated support and ensure continuity of care. People's changing needs were identified promptly and responded to appropriately through care planning, risk management and multidisciplinary working.
Leaders were visible, approachable and supportive, creating a positive working environment where staff felt valued and empowered. This culture was reflected in the care provided, with staff consistently demonstrating compassion, professionalism and a commitment to improving people's quality of life.
