During a routine inspection

We spoke with both people living and working in the home.

People using the service told us, "Staff are delightful, almost without exception they are respectful, courteous and know what they are doing', 'We are well looked after in this home and the care meets all my needs' and 'They (staff) respect that I have a tongue in my mouth and I will use it'.

'I get asked if I am happy with the carers and the care I receive and if there is anything about my care I want to raise, there never is because care here is excellent'.

"The food is of a very good quality and is kosher".

From speaking with the managers and staff it was demonstrated that they had a good knowledge and understanding of people's needs and how best to meet those needs. Comments from staff included, "The management of the home is very supportive with training and things we need to learn, they are always coaching us and providing direction" , "We are encouraged to be engaging with all the people living in the home, it is very important for their well being" and "I'm very happy working here, it reflects in the way I do my work, that is because I am treated well".

During our visit we saw staff speaking with people respectfully and politely. We saw staff supporting and assisting people at a pace that was unhurried and met their needs.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to a range of people about the home. They included, the manager, care staff, nursing staff, relatives and people who live at the home individually and in groups. We also had responses from external agencies such as social services in order to gain a balanced overview of what people experience living at Morris Feinmann House.

As part of the inspection process we talked to people using the service and asked staff about those peoples needs. It was clear staff have a good knowledge and understanding of individual care and support people require. Comments from staff included, "Care plans are very good and informative, the keyworker system works well so carers get to know the person they look after well." Another said, "We have plenty of staff to help us get to know people, which helps identify any issues." One resident we spoke to about staff awareness of how people should be treated said, "They do know what my health problems are and can spot if I am not well."

All the people we spoke to said good things about the staff and the way they are

treated with respect and dignity, comments included, "They are kind and polite." A relative said, "The people who work here are a caring bunch and respectful to my relative."

Responses from people who live at the home and relatives were very positive and reflected how the home is run in their best interest. Comments included, "I rest easy knowing my mum receives excellent care." Also, " I have lived here for a long time and I am contented."

As part of the inspection process we spoke to social services for a view of how the home operates, and they told us they had no issues in respect of the delivery of care or any safeguarding issues. There have been some incidents and alerts raised with the safeguarding teams, however the manager has acted appropriately and followed correct procedures in dealing with the concerns.
