Updated 20 February 2026
We completed and inspection between 04 March 2025 and 13 March 2026. 11a Curlew Crescent is a residential care home supporting up to 6 people with a learning disability and Autistic people. At the time of our inspection 6 people were living at the service. All people living at the service received the regulated activity of personal care.
The rating at the last inspection was 'Outstanding' and after this inspection has changed to 'Good'.
We assessed the service against 'Right support, right care, right culture' (RSRCRC) guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the service were broadly complying with this guidance, and its principles were embedded in all elements of people's health and care to emphasise people's rights, independence and choice. The registered manager understood what this guidance meant, however people's health risks were not always well managed.
The registered manager had not always ensured that risks to people's health and wellbeing were consistently well managed. People with assessed health needs in relation to constipation were not always well managed. This meant that people were at an increased risk of constipation and the complications that are linked with becoming constipated.
People's other health risks were well managed, including epilepsy and diabetes. People were protected from the risk of harm and abuse and staff had the skills and competence to support people safely.
Staff supported people to be independent and promoted people's wellbeing. Staff were responsive to people's needs and ensured people were empowered to make their own choices.
People were supported to access the community and take part in activities of their choosing. Staff supported people to be active and promoted their physical and mental health.
