Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 14 May to 20 May 2026.

The Lodge Care Home is a care home supporting older people, including people living with dementia. There were 34 people living at the service at the time of our assessment.

Although we rated this service Good overall, we identified areas where improvements were needed. Systems to monitor and ensure safe and effective care delivery were not always fully effective. We found concerns in relation to medicines management, environmental safety, care planning and the management of health risks. The provider was responsive to our concerns and took, or planned, prompt action to address these areas.

However, staff demonstrated a good understanding of people’s needs and we observed kind, respectful care. There were effective working relationships within the staff team, and leaders promoted a positive and supportive culture. A staff member said, “The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere.” Staff felt able to raise concerns and described the management team as approachable.
