During a routine inspection

People who used the agency and with whom we spoke, said that someone from the agency had visited them and discussed what type of support they needed and what time of the day the support was required. They made the following comments. "I chose to use Freedom because I had used them before and I had found all the staff to be friendly and polite', 'I previously used another agency but things didn't work out so changed to Freedom. They provide me with the help I need" and "I am very well treated. The carers are polite and always ask me for my agreement'.

People told us that they received the same team of support workers. Staff we spoke with talked confidently about the people they supported and demonstrated their competency in the role. If people needed support to take their daily medicines this was well managed by the agency.

There were effective recruitment and selection processes in place. Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work for the agency. The staff team were well supported to do their jobs because they received training, had regular supervision and were well supported by the office staff and the manager.

The provider had effective systems in place to monitor the quality of service provision.

During a routine inspection

People had been given the information they needed about the agency. They appreciated the care they received and how the care workers supported them. People described the care workers as 'very pleasant and polite', 'on the ball' and 'very professional'.

People usually saw the same care workers and they knew who would be visiting them. They had agreed the support they would receive and had been given a care plan to keep in their home. One person said that the care workers came at the precise time. Other people told us that the care workers 'do what's expected' and had got to know them well

People said that the care workers did their work well; one person told us 'they do things by the book'. Staff said they felt well supported and that 'spot checks' were being carried out on their work.

People said they could contact the agency's office if they had any concerns. One person said they felt 'safe and sound' after the care workers had visited. Other people mentioned that the care workers looked smart in their uniforms and carried identity, which they thought was important.

Overall, people received a service that was meeting their needs.
