During a routine inspection
People told us that they were very happy living at Castle View. People felt that they were well looked after and that all of their care and support needs were met.
One person told us,
'I feel safe here'
Both people are able to be fully informed and consulted in the decisions relating to their care and support. We were told that the proprietors always ask how they would like to be supported and care is given in ways that people prefer. One person told us that they say how they like to have things done and the proprietor listens.
We were told that the proprietors respect people's privacy. For example they always knock before entering bedrooms and we saw this on the day of our visit.
Both people living at Castle View felt fully able to give consent to care and treatment. We were told that one person was fully involved in recent decisions taken to change their care and support plan in order for them to live a healthier life. People told us that they access their GP whenever they need to. The proprietors support people living at the home with their medication and people said that they are very happy with this arrangement. One person said that they receive medication when they need it.
People said that they enjoyed a varied diet containing lots of fresh vegetables.
One person said that they particularly enjoyed breakfast and that they looked forward to this. People have 'sufficient' to eat and can have drinks whenever they would like. One person said that they enjoyed 'nice home-cooked food'.
People told us that they felt safe at Castle View and said that if they had any worries or concerns they would be confident to speak with one of the proprietors. People told us that their family members support them to manage all of their money and that this arrangement works well. A relative told us that the proprietors are very approachable and welcoming. One person said that they always make relatives welcome, adding 'they are very good like that'.
Castle View is always clean and tidy.
We were told that Castle View was a lovely place to live. People considered it to be their home. One person told us how much they like the garden and another person said that the views from all rooms in the house are 'stunning'.
People's information is stored securely and records seen were well organised and up to date.
