Overview

Inspection carried out on 17 October 2012

During a routine inspection

As part of our inspection of the personal care service provided at Pocklington Place we spoke with five people who used the service. We also spoke with three members of staff and the manager of the service who is currently in the process of registering with CQC.

The people we spoke with were satisfied with the care that they received and told us that it met their needs. People told us that staff treated them with respect. They also told us that they had confidence in the staff and the management of the service to respond to any concerns or issues that they had. Comments that we received included:

There are no complaints from our end, everyone is lovelycouldnt sing their praises enough.

The service is satisfactory. The staff know how to look after me.

We are very lucky here with the care staff weve got.

All of them are polite. No problem with the carers at all.

Since coming into post earlier this year the manager had reviewed quality monitoring processes and instigated a programme of regular spot checks of the service. Staff training and support had also been reviewed and any shortfalls were being addressed.
