During an inspection looking at part of the service

We spoke with people who use the service and they told us that things had improved since our last inspection. One person told us that there were strict rules about medicine and that their family had to complete charts if they went home. One person also told us that they met with their key worker on a regular basis to discuss their care and identify any problems.

During a routine inspection

People told us that staff supported them to maintain their independence. They said that they were enabled by staff to make decisions and choices. People said that they were able to choose the times they wished staff to support them with personal care and social activities.

People were confident that staff promoted their privacy and dignity. They said that staff treated them with respect and were kind and helpful

People said that they were aware of how to make a complaint They said if they had any concerns they would report it to the manager.

People told us that they felt safe and comfortable with staff looking after them.

People said that they were updated of any changes to the service via a bi-monthly newsletter. They said that regular meetings did not take place. However, the manager operated an 'open door' and they were able to meet with her if they had a concern.
