CQC register St Johns Nursing Home to carry out the following legally regulated services here:

Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care

Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

On the day the conditions take effect and from that day onwards the registered person must not admit any new service user to St Johns Nursing Home, Rownhams Lane, Southampton, Hampshire, SO16 8AR without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission.

Within 7 days of the conditions taking effect, the registered person must submit a report to the Care Quality Commission to evidence that personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPS) have been completed for all service users.

Within 14 days of the conditions taking effect, the registered person must submit a report to the Care Quality Commission to demonstrate the level of provider support and oversight being provided to the registered manager to support them to achieve improvements in the quality and safety of the service. Thereafter the registered person must send such reports to the Commission by 5pm on the last Friday of each month.

Within 14 days of the conditions taking effect, the registered person must complete and send audits of the following to the Care Quality Commission:

(a) All service users care plans and risk assessments. This audit must ensure that all associated service user records are reviewed for completeness and accuracy, including but not limited to medicines administrations records and food and fluid records.

(b) Medicines management.

(c) Service users’ mental capacity and required need for mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards applications.

(d) Staff training including specialised training to meet the needs of service users supported by the service.

(e) Observations of staff in relation to treating service users with dignity and respect.

(f) Environmental and premises maintenance works.

Within 14 days of the conditions taking effect, the registered person must submit a report to the Care Quality Commission setting out any actions

Within 14 days of the conditions taking effect, the registered person must submit an action plan to the Care Quality Commission, which addresses how compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 is being achieved by way of action taken and to be taken. Thereafter an updated action plan showing progress against action and any recently identified action must be sent to the Care Quality Commission by 5pm on the last Friday of each month.

Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 38 service users at St Johns Nursing Home.
