Our view of the service
Green Trees Care Home is a ‘care home’ providing personal care and support to people including people living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 16 people with their personal care needs. This assessment has been completed following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) new approach to assessment; Single Assessment Framework. This was an unannounced assessment, which means the provider was not told an assessment was going to be starting beforehand. We conducted this assessment in response to concerns raised to both CQC and the local authority regarding management of the home, medicines management and quality of care. We assessed a total of 9 quality statements from the safe, caring, responsive and well-led key questions. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection.
People's experience of this service
People and relatives told us they were overall happy with the quality of care at Green Trees. They felt staff were kind and caring. However, people and relatives all commented that there was no stimulation for people. Apart from a singer that attended the home, there were no activities and people did not leave the home unless friends or relatives took them out.
