Well led – this means we looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation and promoted an open, fair culture.
At our last assessment we rated this key question requires improvement. At this assessment the rating has remained the same. This meant the management and leadership was inconsistent. Leaders and the culture they created did not always support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

Governance, management and sustainability
The provider did not always have clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability or good governance. They did not always act on the best information about risk, performance and outcomes, or share this securely with others when appropriate.
Whilst effective auditing systems had been put in place and some new processes had been implemented by the previous interim manager, these systems needed to be embedded into everyday practice to ensure continuity and consistency of care. The new manager still needed to familiarise themselves with all these systems in order to become more knowledgeable about people’s care and support needs.
Since the last inspection, a new manager had been recruited and had been in post since the end of April. They told us, “We need to work as a team which probably wasn’t here before, we are trying. I’ve been doing supervisions since I came, and making sure we document everything in the daily notes.”
