Our view of the service

We assessed the residential substance misuse service Kairos Community Trust on 19 February 2026. We last assessed the service on 3 September 2019. We undertook this assessment due to the age of the previous rating.

Kairos Community Trust is a mixed-gender residential rehabilitation service for up to 15 adults with substance misuse problems. The treatment programme is based on the 12-step recovery model of addiction. This model provides both group therapy and individual support. The service admits clients who have completed opioid or alcohol detoxification and are abstinent.

The service registered with the CQC in 2011.

The service is registered to provide the following regulated activity: Accommodation for persons who require treatment for substance misuse.

There was a registered manager in post at the time of the inspection.

At this inspection we found 2 breaches of regulations. We identified gaps in some areas of governance, such as the lack of a recent fire risk assessment, gaps in documentation relating to staff supervision, recruitment records, training and a service risk register.

The service is rated as Good in Safe, Effective, Responsive, Outstanding in Caring and Requires Improvement in Well-Led. We have rated the service as Good overall.
