During a routine inspection

People told us they were happy living in Maudes Meadow. One person commented, 'I am very happy here and wouldn't be as happy living anywhere else. The staff are very good'.

Relatives we spoke to were also happy with the care and support provided to members of their family. They said, 'The care is good and the staff are very helpful. They always call me if there is anything I should know'.

Staff treated people with respect and supported them to retain as much independence as possible. One person said, "The staff let me be independent and just check on me to see how I'm doing. They offer help if I need it but I do like to manage myself if I can."

Care plans gave guidance to staff so that people's needs were met. People who lived in the home saw healthcare professionals when necessary so that their health and wellbeing was monitored.

Recruitment of staff was carried out well so that only suitable people were employed to work in this home.

People and their relatives knew how to complain if they needed to and were confident their complaints would be listened to and dealt with.

During a routine inspection

People living in this home gave very positive feedback when asked about the care and support they received and how they liked living in Maudes Meadow. They told us that they made choices about their lives in the home and that the staff treated them with respect and supported them to maintain their independence. None of the people we spoke with raised any concerns about the care they received.

People told us,

'I love living here and the staff are lovely'.

"I am very happy and it is better than it was at home as I lived by myself. There is always somebody to talk to'.

We observed the interaction between staff and the people living in the home and saw that it was warm, friendly and polite.

We looked at care records and found the information in them to be well documented and up to date. All people living in the home had a relevant plan of care that helped to manage risks. Health care needs were met through close working relationships with the health care professionals.
