Our current view of the service

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 12 November 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control, improvements could be made to the oversight of Legionella testing and fire safety checks needed improvement.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation however, these were not always followed.

There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Tarporley and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 4 treatment rooms. The total number of staff was 10. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses and the practice manager.

People's experience of the service

On the day of our inspection, we saw patient feedback from 10 patients, who had completed paper feedback forms during the inspection day. We also reviewed feedback from 62 patients which was collected by the practice in October 2025. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Comments included:

“From my initial consultation through the various treatments I have felt relaxed, safe, confident across the various treatments. I feel confident that I’m being given the right solution got a given condition, the explanations are clear. It’s both a professional and personal relationship that works.”

“Very good at their job.”

“[the dentist] has completely transformed my confidence and smile. From the very beginning, [the dentist] has been outstanding – incredibly professional and pays great attention to detail whilst really listening to what’s important to me.”

Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. All 10 patient feedback forms we received stated they were happy with the cleanliness of the practice waiting area and agreed that the treatment rooms were clean, tidy and equipment looked to be in a good state of repair.

Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care.

Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
