Our view of the service
We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection 18 November 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Cathedral Dental Practice on 10 April 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 17 (good governance) and 18 (staffing) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice is in Portsmouth and provides private and holistic dental care and treatment for adults and children.
The practice is on the first floor so there is no step-free access. Car parking spaces were available near the practice.
The practice has 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 6 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses, and one dental hygienist. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to one dentist and 2 dental nurses during our inspection.
