We assessed Classic Home Care Services on 1 and 3 August 2026. The service provides care and support to people living in their own homes, including people with health needs, mobility needs, dementia and mental health needs. Care records showed people’s needs and risks were assessed and regularly reviewed.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates the personal care and support that people may receive. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided.
We completed this assessment remotely, which means we did not physically visit the office location.
Staff had detailed guidance to support people with medicines, nutrition, personal care, mobility, catheter care, pressure care, anxiety and communication needs. Care plans were person-centred and reflected people’s routines, preferences and what mattered to them.
People and relatives were positive about the service. They told us staff were kind, reliable, respectful and well trained, and that they felt safe and well looked after. People said communication with the office was good and they knew who to contact if they had concerns. Staff also gave positive feedback about training, teamwork, approachable managers and the culture of the service. The provider had systems to review incidents, complaints, spot checks, medicines and staff development. Incidents were managed appropriately, with evidence of safeguarding referrals, Duty of Candour, learning and action to reduce future risk.
We found some governance shortfalls in recruitment records, including gaps in evidence relating to references, DBS checks at the point of recruitment and health declarations. We fed back to the provider that some files needed stronger evidence around medical fitness. The provider has since taken action to address this.
Overall, we found a caring, responsive and learning culture, with leaders and staff focused on supporting people safely, respectfully and in line with their choices.
