Our view of the service
The inspection was undertaken on 21 August 2025 by an inspector and a specialist advisor with experience in surgical procedures. We have inspected the hospital location 21 times since its registration and under the former location name. The most recent inspection was in December 2021, during which we rated the provider requires improvement overall. At this inspection we found that the clinic manager had been in post a few months and was in the process of setting up systems and processes to ensure that the service met the regulations. There remained many aspects of the service that did not currently meet the minimum standard required by the regulations. This placed patients at risk. We have rated the service inadequate and found four breaches in relation to safe care and treatment, premises and equipment, good governance and staffing.
CQC has taken regulatory action in relation to the concerns that we found. We may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded, if the action has been taken forward.
People's experience of this service
We spoke with two patients on site who were awaiting surgery. Both were positive about their care so far from the ward nursing staff. We tried to review the feedback from patients on The Pemberdeen Laser Cosmetic Surgery Limited area of a review site which the service told us they used to collect feedback. However, this service did not exist. Instead, we found the name that the clinic previously went by and saw that there were recent reviews of the service. The feedback about the service was generally positive. They praise the friendliness of the staff and felt safe. Where patients made negative comments, these were around the cancellation of operations and issues that related to third party organisations.
