Updated 30 July 2025
Date of assessment: 5 August to 29 August 2025. We completed site visits on 5 August, 11 August and 19 August 2025 and completed the rest of the assessment off-site. St Brannocks is a residential care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care. The service is registered for up to 8 people and provides support for people with learning disabilities and autistic people. At the time of the assessment, there were 7 people living at the service. The service was last inspected in March 2019 and was rated requires improvement. We carried out this assessment due to the age of the rating. We have seen improvements since the last assessment, these included improvements to the environment, care plans and implementation of robust governance systems. The rating has now changed to good.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At this inspection, we found the provider was meeting these principles. People’s rights, choices and independence were promoted and recognised by the provider.
