During a routine inspection

When we visited the home there were five people living there. We spoke with four of the people living at the home and to the relatives of three people living at the home. We also spoke with the manager and one member of care staff. We also observed how staff interacted with people using the service.

People using the service or their relatives told us that they liked the home and felt that it provided good care. They told us that they liked the homely environment that was provided. We received the following comments about the home:

'I am pleased where X [their relative] is.'

'They are doing a great job as far as I am concerned.'

'It is all right. Nice enough.'

'I couldn't be happier. It is lovely, lovely place.'

We found that people's privacy, dignity and independence were respected.

People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

People were protected against the risks associated with medicines because the provider had appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines.

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

The provider had a system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.

During a routine inspection

People told us they were looked after well and made positive comments about the staff. These included that staff were "very nice to us" and "everybody is nice and polite." Two people told us they felt safe in the home. For those who could not answer our questions we spoke to their relatives. The relatives said they thought people were well cared for and were very happy with the home.
