All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We spoke with five people and relatives out of 26 at the home at the time of the inspection.

One person told us that 'The care is outstanding here'. Another person told us that 'The home and staff are very good'.

All the people we spoke with told us that they were happy at the home, and appreciated the support given by staff. People also told us that staff regularly asked them if they were happy with the care and support they received, and one person told us 'I have no complaints, and there is a lovely atmosphere at the home'.

We observed staff talking with people in a polite and relaxed manner, and found that staff addressed each person by their preferred name.

We reviewed four out of 26 care plans at the home, and found that they contained assessments and care interventions, which allowed the staff to provide individualised care and support for each person. We spoke with two members of staff and found that they had received relevant training, were knowledgeable about the needs of people at the home, and referred to their care plans to ensure they supported each person safely and appropriately.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with some people at the home, and we observed people in the main lounge to see the care that was given to them. We found that people engaged with staff at the home, and we noticed that some people joked and laughed with their carers in a relaxed manner. We noted that people at the home were comfortable, dressed appropriately and able to move freely about the home.

People told us that they liked the home because it had a friendly atmosphere, and one person told us that she appreciated the staff helping her with her hair and make-up, so she could still look good everyday.

One other person told us that she enjoyed the outings and trips provided by the home, including theatre and music events.

People told us that the care home felt 'like a home from home', and that they had no complaints.
