Date of assessment: 18 June, 2026.
Roundhey Care is a home care agency providing personal care to people in their own homes. The service was supporting 5 people with a regulated activity at the time of the assessment.
The service has been rated good. People felt safe and were supported by staff who understood how to protect people from abuse and avoidable harm.
The rotas were managed well. Carers were punctual visiting people on time and they were not rushed. Staff were recruited safely. Staff told us they felt valued and received good support from the registered manager. Medicines were managed safely.
People and their families were regularly consulted about the care provided. Staff worked well with other health and social care professionals and supported people to achieve good outcomes.
People were treated with dignity and respect and were supported by a consistent staff team who knew them well and treated them as individuals.
The service was well led. The registered manager led by example and a positive person-centred culture supported the delivery of good care.
People's experience of this service
We received positive feedback from people and their relatives. People told us, “I never feel rushed and once [staff] have finished, they always ask myself and my husband if we have anything we need them to do before they leave” and “We get on really well with the carers and have a built a good rapport with them. They are very kind and always polite to me and my husband, they are more like friends to us, and we can chat to them and vice versa.”
Relatives told us, “They are very caring. It is a good standard. We are very happy with the service” and “The carers are patient, empathetic and very supportive with [relative], [relative] has an excellent relationship with them.”
There was positive feedback about the registered manager. Relatives told us, “Last Sunday the registered manager phoned me to discuss the very high temperatures predicted for this week and looked at how this would affect [relative]. They have told the carers to ensure [relative] has had sun protection cream applied and that [relative] wears a hat if she ventures out.”
Residents and families did not report any concerns related to discrimination and inequality during the assessment.
