The assessment was conducted between 18 August to 2 September 2026.
Metis Care Limited is a domiciliary care agency registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes. This inspection was the first rating for the service.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects services where personal care is provided this includes assistance with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where applicable, any wider social care provided is also considered. At the time of assessment, the service was supporting one person.
Care was delivered in a person-centred manner and reflected people’s needs, preferences, routines and desired outcomes. People were involved in their care planning, and regular reviews were completed to ensure support remained appropriate.
There were no safeguarding concerns, complaints, accidents or incidents at the time of inspection. The service was not supporting people with the administration of medication.
Recruitment processes were safe and appropriate. Staff files contained the necessary pre-employment checks, including DBS checks, references and proof of identity. Staff had completed mandatory training relevant to their role. The provider had also considered future face-to-face training requirements, such as moving and handling training, should more complex care packages be accepted.
Governance systems were in place and proportionate to the size of the service. Oversight included spot checks, supervision, care plan reviews, monitoring of daily records and regular discussions with the person receiving support. Although formal team meetings were not held due to the service currently supporting one person and employing one staff member, communication and oversight were maintained through regular contact, spot checks and supervision.
The Registered Manager demonstrated a good understanding of their regulatory responsibilities and had plans in place to further develop governance systems as the service grows.
