Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 7 January 2026

We carried out announced comprehensive assessments of the London Autism Clinic and 1 Kingdom Street on 10 and 11 February 2026.

We rated this service as good.

Autism Clinic London is an independent provider that carries out Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for children aged 2-14 at their 2 locations; London Autism Clinic and 1 Kingdom Street.

They provide private self-funded assessments, as well as partnering with local NHS trusts to provide assessments on their behalf. At the time of inspection, around 80% of the clinic’s work was for NHS patients.

The service offered face to face appointments, as well as remote video appointments.

At the time of inspection, the service had 7 employed operations administrative staff. The clinical staff were all sessional associate members of staff, and were not directly employed by the service. There were 15 Paediatricians, 9 speech and language therapists, 5 psychologists, 2 assistant psychologists, 1 dietitian, and 1 occupational therapist.

This was the first inspection of these locations.

As part of the assessment, we spoke with 10 members of staff and 5 carers. We observed one assessment. We reviewed the care and treatment records of 10 patients. We also received written feedback from 7 carers.

We visited and assessed both of the provider’s locations as part of this assessment. The governance processes, staffing group and patient group were the same for both locations. The same patient was often seen at both locations for the different parts of their assessment. For example, their physical health examination at one location, followed by their observational assessment in their other location. For this reason, we have 1 report which covers what we found from the 2 locations.
