Date of assessment: 7 to 14 April 2026.
Silverways Nursing Home provides accommodation, personal care and nursing care, for up to 61 people. At the time of our inspection there were 58 people using the service.
This inspection was prompted by concerns we received about the safety of care provision. We found 2 breaches of regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Medicines were not always managed safely. People’s care plans were routinely reviewed, however daily notes showed support provided was not always in accordance with assessed needs. For example, when repositioning people or supporting them with exercises. The provider’s checks and audits were not always used effectively. This placed people at potential risk of avoidable harm.
We asked the provider for an action plan in response to the shortfalls found at this inspection.
The provider and registered manager responded to shortfalls identified and started to make the necessary changes to the systems in place.
Staff knew people well and were kind and caring, taking into consideration people’s individuality. A diverse range of activities were provided.Staff referred people to health and social care professionals in a timely manner.
