During a routine inspection
The home was warm, looked clean and was furnished in a homely way. There were no institutional features. In addition to their own bedrooms, people could spend time in the living room or the conservatory which overlooked the garden.
People's needs were assessed, their care was planned and staff delivered care and support according to people's needs and preferences.
People were encouraged to be as independent as possible. They were supported to carry out household tasks and to prepare food and drinks, where appropriate.
People were supported to be healthy and to attend appointments with a range of health professionals.
People were supported to eat and drink in sufficient amounts to meet their nutritional needs and their preferences.
There were good arrangements for the storage, administration and recording of medication. The pharmacist carried out regular audits of the medication.
People were cared for by sufficient numbers of suitable qualified and experienced staff. The staff team was stable, which meant that people knew the staff well.
