Updated 25 February 2021

Rivington View is a two storey purpose built home that provides nursing and personal care for up to 33 people. The home has various communal and quiet sitting rooms and provides accommodation in single rooms. At the time of the inspection 27 people were using the service.

We found the following examples of good practice.

The service followed strict visiting processes for relatives and professionals that protected people and staff from the potential spread of Covid-19 within the home. This included temperature testing, the completion of a Covid-19 questionnaire and lateral flow testing. New hand washing facilities had been installed in a secure area within the entrance porch. Within this area there was provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) and secure storage for this, a stainless steel sink and taps and a secure storage bin for PPE. A large amount of information on Covid-19 was also posted within this area.

Professional visitors and people’s relatives had been clearly informed of the process to be followed when accessing the home, which ensured they knew what was expected to keep them and others safe.

Staff had recently completed the 'NHS Infection Prevention Control – Preventing Infection Workbook', which ensured they had the knowledge and skills to manage infections safely.
