On this occasion we did not speak directly to people living at the home. We observed lunch being served and noted that people chatted to each other and to staff and that lunch was a social occasion. People were offered three courses that included some choices.

During a routine inspection

People told us that staff respect their need for privacy and dignity and that they are involved in making decisions about their care. This includes deciding what time to get up and go to bed, what to wear and a choice of meals at each mealtime.

People told us that the meals at the home are good, well cooked and that there is plenty of choice.

People told us that the home is always clean, both in the communal and private areas of the home.

People told us that there are sufficient staff members on duty to meet their needs and that staff are caring, pleasant, kind and supportive. Some people said that their family visited them at the home and that they were also happy with the way staff looked after them.

We were told by people who live in the home that they know how to make a complaint but that they have not needed to. They added that they felt that they could speak to any member of staff if they did have a problem.
