During an assessment under our new approach

Date of Assessment: 1 and 8 April 2026. The service is a care at home service, providing support to older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health support needs, people with learning disabilities and autistic people, people with eating disorders and people who misuse drugs and alcohol. This is the first assessment of this service.

Staff provided safe care which reflected people’s needs and risks. Where additional support was needed to keep people safe, this was arranged. The registered manager followed appropriate processes when recruiting staff and ensured staff completed the training necessary to meet people’s needs safely. Staff followed safe infection prevention and control practices. People were protected from the risk of abuse and avoidable harm, and appropriate action was taken when accidents or incidents occurred. Medicines were managed safely, with some minor improvements needed to ensure processes reflected national guidance.

People’s needs were assessed and reviewed regularly, to ensure staff could provide them with care which reflected their current needs. People received individualised care from a small team of regular staff who knew them and were familiar with their needs and risks. When people needed specialist support to meet their needs, this was arranged. The registered manager worked well with partner agencies to monitor people’s health and wellbeing and ensure they received all the support they needed.

People’s care needs were discussed with them or their relatives, so that they were fully involved in decisions about their care and support. People received person-centred care which reflected what was important to them and resulted in a good quality life. People were supported to access all the support they needed to meet their individual needs and were provided with information in a way they could understand.

The registered manager, who was also the provider, focused on providing people with high quality care, which reflected their needs and risks. They ensured appropriate standards of safety and quality were maintained through regular checks and audits. They demanded high standards from staff and completed regular checks of their performance and competence. Staff told us they were encouraged to raise any concerns and felt listened to when they did. The registered manager worked well with partner agencies and embraced opportunities to improve and develop the service.

Staff were kind and caring and treated people with compassion. They ensured people received support when they needed it. They respected people’s right to privacy and dignity and encouraged them to retain as much independence as possible. They encouraged people to make everyday decisions when they could and respected their wishes and decisions.
