During a routine inspection

People who use the service told us that they knew what the service could offer them and they consented to the service they received. We observed that staff respected people's rights, privacy and dignity. One person said 'I came in and looked round and staff went through my needs. I am treated by staff as an individual.'

People told us they got the care and support they needed. One person said 'The staff look after me they know what help I need, nothing is to much trouble.' Another person said 'I have not had to wait for care. The staff are patient. All the staff who help us are kind. They know what I need a hand with.'

People we spoke with told us that they could and would raise issues and felt issues would be looked into. One person said 'I could speak with the manager, proprietors and staff if I had any issues or concerns.'

People said they felt there were enough staff to look after them. They said staff were good at their job and had received training. A person said 'There are enough staff. I do not have to wait for staff to come, unless they are helping someone else. They are soon with me.'

People said they felt comfortable to give their views and said their opinions about the services they received were asked for by the staff and management. A person we spoke with said 'I am always asked if I am happy with everything and I am.'

During a routine inspection

People who used the service told us they were happy with the service that they received. One person said person 'Staff will help you with whatever you need a hand with, you only have to ask. Staff come when needed, who ever is available'. Another said 'We are treated with an awful lot of respect'.

People told us they enjoyed the food provided. One person said 'The food is good, lovely sweets'. Another person said 'We can have things to eat and drink at anytime, not just at mealtimes'.

We were told by people we spoke to that they knew they could raise concerns or issue at any time and felt issues would be dealt with. One person said 'Staff never loose their temper, they are very good staff'. Another said 'Staff would not do anything you did not want them to do'. Another person said 'In our rooms we have information telling us what to do if we are unhappy, there are certain people we can contact. I feel safe here with the staff'.

People told us that they were happy with the cleanliness of the home and systems in place for infection control. One person said 'It's beautifully and clean here they are forever cleaning'. Another said 'Staff are very particular they always wash their hands when they have finished helping me. The cleaner comes in every morning and does everything'.

People told us they had no concerns with the arrangements in place for dealing with medications. One person said 'My medication is dealt with professionally'. Another said 'I have what the doctor prescribes for me.There are special staff that deal with medications they have had training to deal with this safely, so they know what they are doing'.

We were told by people living at the home that they were satisfied with the home environment and how it was maintained. One person said 'I looked round with my son; I was quite impressed with it. The home is clean and fresh'. Another said 'We have a new garden set which has been bought by relatives as a thank you'. A third person told us 'Before I came in to the home my room was painted, the woodwork and everything. I am quite happy here. It is a lovely place'.

People we spoke to said they were happy with the staff and felt had been recruited properly. One person said 'Staff have the skills and training to know what they are doing'. Another said 'They are more like friends than staff. They are well trained and very professional'.
