All Inspections

During a routine inspection

During our inspection, we spoke to four residents and asked them about various aspects of living at this home. People told us that staff were respectful towards them, and that they received the care they needed. The residents we spoke to were all complimentary about the staff and service, with one resident saying "if you've got to be somewhere like this, then this is probably as good as it gets", and another resident told us "the care is very good indeed." People told us they felt safe living at Sutton Manor. The residents thought staff were well trained for the work they were doing. We were told people got the help they needed when they asked for it with one person adding "I think they do a wonderful job, I've been here for 10 years."

We saw that the home was clean and tidy, and that the home was decorated and furnished to a high standard. Residents also commented on the outside gardens and the home's grounds, with one resident saying "it's lovely in the summer, we benefit from all of this."

People told us their privacy and dignity was maintained and respected. They were involved in how their care was planned and delivered.

People told us they liked the food at the home.

People told us the home was clean, and residents were happy with how their rooms are kept clean and tidy.

People who are able are encouraged and supported to manage their medication independently.

Staff feel supported by a clear management structure and told us the home has benefited from changes to systems and procedures. Staff told us they enjoyed their work. Residents said the staff are good and there is consistency as staff turnover is low.

People are confident that any concerns raised would be dealt with promptly and effectively.

Some people recall being asked about their view of how the service is run, but the residents we spoke with were happy not to get involved.
