Date of assessment 20 January 2026 to 10 February 2026. Mulberry House is a care home. This is a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. There were 7 people living at the service at the time of our assessment.
We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Some care records and medicines protocols were still generic rather than fully person‑centred. People were not always supported to develop independence. Governance systems had improved but were not yet fully embedded or applied consistently.
At our last inspection we identified breaches of the legal regulations in relation to governance, safe care and treatment and person-centred care. At this inspection, improvements had been made and the provider was no longer in breach of the legal regulations.
Governance systems had improved but were not yet fully embedded into daily practice. Care plans were more personalised and further improvements were planned to these and promoting people’s independence. People received prompt support to access other services, for example, physiotherapists. Staff understood how to keep people safe from the risk of harm or abuse. We observed staff were kind and patient. The environment was safe; fire doors had been replaced, rooms had been redecorated and broken furniture had been repaired or replaced.
