All Inspections

During a routine inspection

People who use the service said they were very happy with the service they receive. They said staff were respectful and involved them in any decisions about their care. People who use the service and their relatives made the following comments;

' Carried out a thorough assessment at the start, asked us everything we wanted.

' Very respectful of our privacy, make sure of my husband's dignity

' Always discuss everything with us, any changes and they see to them

' No complaints, a very good service

' Have re-assessed as my needs have changed

' Any changes, very flexible, everything gets sorted, good communication

' They take the lead from Mum

' Very respectful of privacy and dignity

' Encourage Mum to do what she can for herself

' They keep me well informed of everything

' The staff are very good, kind, caring, always punctual, made strenuous efforts to get here during the bad weather

' Care is very good, excellent, ten out of ten, 100 %

' It is an exceptionally good service

' They will always sort out Mum's meals if I am away

' Feel very safe, feel in good hands

' I feel safe with them in my home, no problems

' They always wear gloves and aprons and are clean and tidy

' They are very good when moving Mum, very careful

' Very good calibre, sensible, kind, know what they are doing

' Very nice girls, can't fault them

' They know what they are doing

' Staff vary in their expertise and personality, but Mum generally gets on with everyone who comes

' On very good terms with the manager, can ring anytime

' Manager keeps us well informed

' Feel very comfortable to voice any concerns if I needed to

' No complaints, but know how to if needs be

' Mum feels in control as she can voice any issues and they are acted upon

One person said they wished staff could spend more time with them and found at times that 'things were a bit rushed'. They said they knew how to contact the agency to discuss this and would do so.

Staff told us that people receive a good service, which is well managed. They said care is focussed on what the people who use the service want and need. Staff also told us they receive good training and support from the manager of the service. Their comments included:

' Generally we have enough time to spend with people. If we don't, we let the office know and they usually sort it out

' Staff stay because they are good to work for

' Training is very good, we get everything we need

' There is good back up from the management team

' We check out that people are comfortable with us, explain what we are doing, never leave them unsure

' People get good care and would certainly tell us if they didn't

' Care plans are good, tell us what we need to know

' We encourage and prompt people to maintain their independence
