During a routine inspection

People we spoke with told us they loved living at the home and felt supported by the staff. They said that the staff supported them to maintain their independence, and provided help and guidance when they needed it. Staff told us that they were well trained and we saw evidence that they were up to date with courses which ensured they had the knowledge to provide care and support. We saw from their records that this training included respect, dignity and privacy. Staff told us that these issues were always discussed during meetings and during regular supervision. This ensured that the staff were competent to provide care and support.

One person showed us their care records. They were very familiar with the contents of these. A relative told us that they were kept fully informed of all changes affecting their relative, and they had confidence in the management and staff. This ensured that they felt able to raise issues with the manager or staff.

People's records were reviewed on a regular basis and audits were conducted by an external agency which provided an independent assessment of care quality. The provider had effective systems in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service.
