All Inspections

During a routine inspection

The staff showed a good understanding of the importance of gaining consent and people who used the service told us that staff respected their wishes. Care plan files were regularly reviewed and risk assessments were detailed and appropriate.

When we spoke to people they were very happy with the support they received. One person told us 'It's an excellent service. The carers are friendly and happy and overall I am happy'. Another person told us 'I would be lost without them'.

The staff were recruited and inducted using a robust system and staff allocation levels were managed to ensure that the service was delivered consistently. There were some systems in place for monitoring the quality of the service provided but there was a lack of monitoring and auditing of internal systems to ensure that all aspects were managed and delivered effectively.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who used the service and one relative of a person who used the service. People told us they were consulted about their care and that their preferences were listened to and acted upon. They told us they received the care they needed and that the staff took time to explain what they were there to help with. They told us staff did not rush. One person told us, 'My carer understands what I need and will be flexible according to how I feel each day.' Another person told us, 'I can trust my carer, she always explains what she is going to do and I feel secure with her.'
