Ideal Home Care

Date of assessment: 29 July 2026 and 6 August 2026. Ideal Home Care is a domiciliary care service that provides care and support to people living in their own home. This is the provider’s first assessment since registration. All quality statements were reviewed.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability. We found the provider lacked knowledge of ‘Right support, right care, right culture.’

The assessment included discussions with people using the service, their relatives, staff members and the registered manager. We also sought and considered feedback from the Local Authority prior to the assessment visit.

The provider demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering a safe, effective, inclusive and person-centred service. People were supported by a dedicated and compassionate staff team that promoted their independence and enabled them to continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Comprehensive assessments of people’s needs were completed to ensure care and support were tailored to their individual requirements. Care plans captured important information about people’s backgrounds, including their ethnicity, culture, beliefs and religious preferences. This helped to ensure care was delivered in a way that respected people’s choices, values and individual lifestyles.

Effective governance systems and quality assurance processes were in place to monitor service delivery, identify areas for improvement and promote consistently high standards of care.

Staff received regular one-to-one supervision and support, providing them with opportunities to reflect on their practice, discuss their development needs and receive guidance to help them perform their roles effectively. This contributed to a knowledgeable and competent workforce capable of meeting people’s needs.

People were actively involved in the development and review of their care plans, ensuring their personal preferences, wishes and individual needs were identified and reflected in the care and support they received. People and their relatives spoke highly of the service and were extremely complimentary about the quality of care provided. Feedback consistently highlighted the caring and compassionate approach of staff. One person told us they felt safe when receiving support and described the staff team as being "like family."

People were supported to maintain links with their local communities and were assisted to attend healthcare appointments when required. This helped to promote their independence, wellbeing and access to appropriate healthcare services.

People told us they had no concerns about the service and were confident in the care they received. They said should they ever need to raise an issue, they would feel comfortable speaking with staff or a member of the management team and were assured their concerns would be listened to and acted upon appropriately.
